Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you request an evaluation or book training with KC Canine.
LAST UPDATED — NOVEMBER 4, 2026
Agreement
By requesting an evaluation, booking training, or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not book services. These terms apply alongside any program agreement or liability waiver you sign before training begins.
Services
KC Canine provides dog training, behavior modification, personal protection training, private handler coaching, working K9 development, and boarding for established clients. Programs are delivered in-house and in public settings, by appointment, in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.
Every dog is assessed individually. Recommended programs, timelines, and equipment are based on that assessment, and not every dog follows the same path.
Evaluations
Evaluations are free within 20 miles of our service base. Beyond that distance a travel fee applies; the amount is confirmed with you before the appointment is booked. Evaluation appointments are available Monday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, subject to availability.
An evaluation is an assessment, not a training session, and does not guarantee acceptance into a program.
Booking, rescheduling, and cancellation
All training is by appointment and must be scheduled in advance. Rescheduling and cancellation terms are provided in writing with your program agreement. Please give as much notice as possible so the slot can be offered to another client.
Fees and payment
Program pricing and payment terms are confirmed in writing after your evaluation. Payment schedules, deposits, and any travel fees are set out in that agreement. Pricing shown or discussed before an evaluation is an estimate, not an offer.
Follow-up sessions
Board and Train programs include three follow-up sessions after completion. Follow-up sessions expire one year after the program completion date and are not transferable or refundable once that period ends.
Training outcomes
Dog behavior is influenced by genetics, environment, health, and consistency at home. We do not guarantee a specific outcome, timeline, or the elimination of a behavior. Our commitment is structured training, transparent communication, and coaching so you can maintain the progress achieved.
Handler responsibilities
- You are responsible for your dog's care, health, and control at all times, including during sessions
- Disclose any bite history, aggression, medical conditions, or medications before training begins
- Keep vaccinations current and follow any veterinary advice relevant to training
- Complete agreed homework and handler practice between sessions
- Provide accurate information about your dog and your goals
Protection work
Personal protection training is not appropriate for every dog. Suitability is determined during evaluation. Protection work is conducted with appropriate equipment and under supervision; you must not attempt protection exercises outside of structured sessions.
Boarding
Boarding is available only to established clients who have completed a KC Canine training program. Boarding reservations are subject to availability, and vaccination and health requirements must be met before drop-off.
Liability and waiver
Working with dogs carries inherent risk, including bites, scratches, and property damage. Before training begins you will be asked to review and sign a liability waiver and release acknowledging those risks and your responsibility for your dog. Training will not begin until that document is signed.
Photos, video, and testimonials
By submitting a testimonial or photos, you grant KC Canine permission to publish them on this website and in our marketing. Let us know in writing if you would like a submission removed.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut.
